A True Oasis!

While exploring beautiful strange spots online,  I stumbled upon Timimoun, Algeria tonight and found the motherload of strange spots.  Timimoun is an enchanting desert oasis town with distinctive red mud buildings studded with wooden spikes in Sudanese style architecture.  The surrounding area hosts ancient villages and abandoned csars (castles).  The population is currently about 33,000 and growing with Haratines, Zenetes, Berbers, Chaamba Arabs and Black Africans.  It's located in central Algeria in the heart of the Sarah Desert with very hot summers (averaging 111 degrees).  About 80% of the residents are literate and the town has over 400,000 palm trees..  There is so much to learn about this part of the world, yet so little on the internet.
