Tree Beetles out to get a Beatle! In 2004, a pine tree was planted in Los Angeles, CA's Griffith Park in honor the late Beatle, George Harrison. George passed away in 2001. He was an avid gardener during his final years. The tree grew over 10 feet tall until the tree beetle overwhelmed it resulting in it's death. At the base of the tree, a small plaque reads, "In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardner". A new tree is to be planted by the date has yet to be decided.
