Free Ivy League. COWBOY STYLE!

Howdy!  This strange spot is worth reading as it is nothing less than strangely wonderful! Being a single parent of a large family, no question get's to my goat more than "How will you pay for your children's college education?"
Here's an option! (one of many).  DEEP SPRINGS COLLEGE... my new favorite Strange Spot :) is located in the Deep Springs Valley of California USA (population 45) with the nearest town of any significance size being forty plus minutes away.  I'm thinking this is likely to be most remote college in all of the USA.  Today, it's private all boys alternative college after opening it's doors in 1917. The tuition is ZERO dollars per semester :). The class size averages eight students and the entire student body population is a whopping 26!
Their average SAT score upon admission is around the upper 700 range for Verbal and around 700 for math, however they report the interview process is much more important. Approximately 6% to 15% of applications are accepted each year from the total applications and of them, 95% accept the offer of admission.
They also have an impressive transfer rate. Here's some interesting transfer statistics over the last 10 years.
16% transferred to Harvard
13% transferred to University of Chicago
7% transferred to Yale
7% transferred to Brown
Others transferred frequently to Columbia, Oxford, Berkeley, Cornell and Stanford. Not too shabby!
Most continue to advanced doctorate levels of education.
Deep Spring may look like an agricultural college, but is not :). Regardless, it is a fully functioning ranch and alfalfa ranch. Each student plays a large role in the operation of the ranch within the framework of their "labor program". Their jobs may range from washing dishes to delivering newborn cattle. Students may request specific positions matching their interests.
