Wet World

Mount Wai'ale'ale' (Waialeale) on the Hawaii Island of Kaua'i (USA) is known as the wettest spot (or the 2nd) in the world.  The word Waialeale is translated as "rippling water or "over flowing water".  The mountain is 5,148 feet and it averages 452 inches of rain per year since 1912, with a record of 683 inches in 1982.  It rains up to 360 day per year..  There is a healthy tropical rain forest at the summit of the mountain.  Although it is known as the wettest place on Earth,  Mawsynram, Meghalaya, India also claims the same..  I will have to check out the statistics to confirm.  Hawaii's rainfall is continuous while India's accumulates during the monsoon season... so who knows :).
