Volcano Grill!

Dinner at the El Diablo Restaurant on the island of Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain) is prepared by a very eco-friendly technique :). They cook with nothing more than a hole in the ground,  a volcanic hole.  This restaurant is build on a volcano and uses geothermic activity to make their food just right.  The lava down below is about 750 degree, which must be the right temp as they are known for the delicious food. Fortunately, the volcano is dormant however continues to bubble only below the surface since it's last eruption in 1824.  Apparently building this restaurant on a massive heat source was quite the task.  It took 9 layers of basalt rock for build a foundation, digging down isn't the best option on a volcano.  All their effort was worth the amazing views of the Lanzorote Timanfaya National Park, an alien landscape of volcano rock and red sand.
