The Tiger's Nest (aka Paro Taktsang, Dzongkha, སྤ་རོ སྟ་ཏྴ་ནྒ་, Spa Phro Stag Tshang) is a sacred Buddhist Monastery located in the Himalayans of Bhutan along a Cliffside of the upper Paro Valley. It was built in 1962 around a cave, Taktsang Senge Samdu, which are said to be once home for tigers. It is also a place where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for 3 years, 3 months, 3 weeks, 3 days and 3 hours in the 1700s. Padmasambhava is credited for brining Buddhism to Bhutan. If you'd like to go for a visit, you had better bring your hiking shoes. The trail to the top is rather tricky and can be quit slippery during rains. Along the path, you will go climb many steps, pass an amazing waterfall and enjoy prayer wheels and pray flags. At the top, the view is said to be enthralling and very much worth the hike. Photography isn't allowed inside of temple as the area is a place of serenity. I'm ready to head up the trail :)! Anyone want to join me?
think this was a naughty photographer
