Jigokudani (meaning Hell Valley) is located near the towon of Noboribetsu Onsen. Here one will find steam vents, sulfurous streams, volcanic activity, steam, hot springs and MONKEYS. The Oyunumagawa is a hot river flowing through the area's forests. Local ponds can reach temperatures hotter than 120 degrees. Tourists enjoy watching the monkeys and the monkey apparently pay little attention to the people and their cameras. Bucket list item for sure!
