Airport vs Beach

World's most dangerous, world's most scenic.. whatever you want to call it,  it's a BEACH :)!  This is the Barra Eoligarry Airport (Port-adhair Bharraigh).  It's located on the island of Barra in Scotland along the Atlantic Coast.  What makes this airport so unique is that it's not only on a beach, it's on an open to the public beach.   One must always remember to check if the windstock to assure it is flying before going for a stroll, as this indicates if the airport is operational.   This is the only beach in the world having an airport with scheduled flights.
The airport is operated by Highlands and Islands Airports Limited, which owns most of the regional airports in mainland Scotland and the outlying islands. Barra Airport opened in 1936.  It's runway is along the bay of Traigh Mhor at the northern tip of the island.
