Sitting in the middle of the Sinai Desert is the abandoned cinema dubbed, "The End of the World Cinema". The site is over 10 miles from the closet small town of Sharm el-Sheikh. Well over 10 years ago, apparently an anonymous affluent French man created the theater. The frenchman bought his seats and equipment for an old cinema in Cairo. Apparently he was full of enthusiasm and spirit. Unfortunately, on opening night, his electricity generator was sabotaged resulting in the closure of the theater. Local authorities were not happy about the theater and have been blamed for the incident. The theater has seating for forty and is still waiting for an audience that never came.
