Boiling Lake

Boiling Lake is located on the Island of Dominica (on the Caribbean Sea) within the Morne Trois Pitons National Park and is a World Heritage site.   Volcanic activity (a fumarole) heats the lake leaving it bubbling with blue-grey water.   Typically you will find a large vapor cloud surrounding the lake.  The diameter of the later is approximately 200 feet.  The outer edges of the lakes temperature is up to 195 degrees.  The inner temperature of the lake is not yet recorded.  The depth of the lake is 195 feet deep, however the depth of the lake has varied over the centuries.  The lake is a popular tourist hiking destination in Dominica.
