Tip Toe Through The Tulips

You can't think of Holland without thinking of the beautiful flower, the tulip.  Tulips are spring blooming perennials that grow from bulbs.  Cultivation of the Tulip began in the 10th century in Persia.  Tulip Mania refers to a time in history when the prices of tulips were extraordinarily high and suddenly collapsed.  This time was referred to as the "Golden Age" of Holland.  The peak of Tulip Mania was in March 1637 until it's collapse in May 1637.  Single bulbs sold for 10 times the annual income of a skilled craftsman and then the unfortunate collapse.  Many investors lost great amounts of money.
